To Determine The Amount of Essential Oil Used In A Product:

NorthWood Essential Oils are pure and undiluted resulting in a strong scent. We recommend starting with a relatively low percentage. The amount of essential oil that should be used in a formulation depends on three factors:

1) The maximum amount of essential oil the product base will accept.
2) The maximum IFRA skin safe level.
3) The amount of essential oil that smells good in your product.

You will look at these three maximum guidelines and use the LOWEST percentage.

For example: MP soap is 3%, IFRA max. use is 100%, and desired smell is 2%. You should not use more than 2% in your product. This 2% is the lowest of all of those numbers.

Maximum Product Base Guidelines:
MP Soap: 3%
CP, HP, CPOP Soap: 6%
Lotions and Scrubs: 1-2%
Bath Salts, Fizziest & Tub Soaks: 5-10%
Candle Wax: 6-12% (see specific wax for exact levels)
Lip Balm, Lip Gloss, and Lip Butter: 1-2%

Pineapple & Acai - Lip Balm Flavoring Oil - Unsweetened

Our delicious Pineapple & Acai Flavor Oil features a juicy combination of Pineapple, Coconut, Acai Berry, Peach, Mandarin and Vanilla.

Unsweetened flavor oils allow you to completely customize your lip balm recipe. Lip balm flavor oils smell, but do not have a taste until you add sweetener. You will need to add sweetener to your lip balm recipe in order to fully bring out the flavor. We recommend using liquid stevia, as this results in non-gritty lip balm.

Feel free to experiment with any lip balm sweetener that you desire.

Suggested Use: Up to 10% by weight. Proper testing is required in your specific application.

Unsweetened flavor oils have a scent, and therefore may be used to scent soap, lotion, perfume or other similar products. However, flavor oils are not formulated to have as strong of a scent throw compared to fragrance oils. For this reason we do not recommend using lip balm flavor oils to scent other bath and body products.
